Responsible Gaming

This page sets out how this site handles gambling safety: what it links to, what it cannot do, and some practical habits worth deciding on before money is involved.

Find independent help through three links on every page

Every page of this site, including this one, carries links to begambleaware.org, gamblingtherapy.org and gamcare.org.uk. These are the only outbound links on the site that are not commercial: they carry no sponsored marking, they are set to nofollow, and they open in a separate tab on the organisations' own websites. This site receives nothing when a reader follows them. They are included as an independent source of help, nothing more is claimed about them here.

Know that account controls live at the destination, not here

Controls such as deposit caps, loss caps, reality checks, cooling-off periods or self-exclusion belong to an operator account. This build has no account, no form and no server-side application, so nothing published here can switch one on, check one or enforce one. Each of the ten operator listings ends with the same line: check availability and the current terms at the destination before claiming anything, because eligibility rules and terms apply there and can change without notice. Everything a reader can actually do with money happens after leaving this site, once the operator's own rules, checks and account controls take over.

Confirm age at the destination, since none happens here

The eighteen-and-over restriction is repeated throughout this build, including on the front page and at the end of every operator listing. Nobody's age is verified on this site and no gambling takes place on it; any check of that kind happens at the destination. No advertising or behavioural profiling network is present in these pages, so nothing here is targeted at a reader who has shown risky behaviour.

Decide the limits before starting, not during

Set the amount you're willing to spend before you begin, and treat it as already spent rather than as money you're trying to win back. Chasing a loss tends to push the amount higher, because the decision is being made from frustration rather than from the plan made in advance. Keep gambling separate from borrowed money, since a loss there affects more than the evening. Taking breaks and involving someone else early, as soon as it stops feeling like entertainment, both work for the same reason: a second perspective catches what's hard to see from inside the moment.
